The installation of a vibrating screen is one of the sought-after services in ore-dressing production.
A vibrating screen is one or more vibrating sieves for separating bulk materials by the size of pieces or particles.
A vibrating screen separates any lump or bulk material into particles of different sizes using screening surfaces with calibrated holes.
It is used for separating rock and bulk building materials into fractions, in laboratories for the fractional analysis of bulk materials, and so on.
It is also used for dewatering various materials — beneficiated coals, washed ores, etc.
Vibrating screens come in several types:
- Inertial screen
- Roller screen
- Drum screen
- Mobile screen
- High-frequency screen
Very often, screens are operated in conditions of high humidity and precipitation outside covered premises, and in winter — in conditions of low temperatures.
Such operating specifics complicate use and raise the requirements for the quality of the machines and their installation.
Vibrating screen installation
The installation process is divided into the preparatory and the actual installation periods.
The preparatory works are related to preparing for the machine installation and include the following:
- Shipping the machines to be installed, unloading them at the installation site, inspecting and checking the completeness of the units and parts, as well as partial fitting;
- Full assembly of the units before installation;
- Assembling individual units into enlarged units, permissible by weight and dimensions for the given rigging;
- Acceptance of the construction works — foundations, rail tracks;
- Delivery of lifting and transport equipment.
Carrying out the installation works includes the following:
- Setting up and placing the rigging equipment at the installation site;
- Carrying out the rigging works related to lifting, moving, installing and fastening the screen;
- Final adjustment of the screen after the installation or setup is complete;
- Trial running of the screen's units, both as a whole without load and under load.
