The installation of an overhead crane and the installation of a gantry crane is a serious and responsible task that only professionals can handle.
The overhead crane is delivered to the installation area in various ways, of which the most rational and convenient is delivery on railway platforms. In addition to fitting along the length of the platform, part of the crane must fit within the loading gauge for railways.
The transportation of oversized crane parts must comply with the technical conditions for loading and securing cargo.
When securing crane parts on platforms, wooden beams must be placed under them, the width and number of which are determined by a crushing calculation based on the cargo weight and inertial forces.
The strength calculation of the fastening elements and the determination of dynamic vertical loads and transverse inertial forces are carried out in accordance with the Technical Conditions.
If the construction site where the crane will be placed is not equipped with railway tracks, semi-trailers are used to deliver the equipment. The crane is transported disassembled.

Overhead crane installation
The most advanced method is the installation of overhead cranes using erection or construction cranes. However, the possibilities of using them are limited by their lifting capacity, lifting height, and by the feasibility of bringing in an erection crane solely to set up an overhead crane.
Therefore, the method of installation using erection masts, electric winches and gantry hoists is widespread, although it is more labour-intensive.

The scheme of crane installation using masts depends on the crane’s characteristics:
- The weight of the bridge and trolley and their overall dimensions;
- The structural characteristics of the building.
The technological features of the installation are determined not only by the weight and dimensions of the overhead crane, but also by the features of the structure and its individual premises (workshops, warehouses and other areas served by the crane).
Today, three main equipment installation technologies are used:
- Element-by-element. Installation is carried out at the working site in parts, and even large elements, such as the overhead crane cabin, have to be lifted to height for fastening;
- Large-block. Individual structural blocks are assembled on the ground and lifted for installation at the working site;
- Full-block. First the overhead crane is fully assembled on the ground, and then it is lifted for installation.
It is precisely at the erection stage that special attention must be paid, since this process establishes not only the mechanism itself, but also the basis for its high productivity and for the service life of the lifting equipment.
Our company will perform a high-quality installation of the overhead crane — for this is the key to its further uninterrupted and efficient operation.
