The company “Sintez TMK” offers services for transporting oversized and super-heavy cargo.
TYPES OF OVERSIZED CARGO
In the broad sense, super-heavy and oversized cargo means any load whose dimensions or weight exceed the permitted limits. This category includes sea and river vessels that need to be moved from one body of water to another; heavy construction, agricultural and road machinery such as bucket loaders, asphalt rollers, crawler tractors and cranes; and structures (houses, site cabins) in assembled form. The latter are likely to be both super-heavy and oversized at the same time. It also includes large metal or reinforced-concrete structures (slabs, blocks, support beams), and equipment and units of the chemical and oil-and-gas industry delivered to the installation site either fully assembled or as large installation elements. The simplest example of such cargo is the large-diameter pipes intended for building oil, gas and product pipelines. A far less frequent but much more interesting guest on cargo platforms is the distillation column for the chemical industry. By and large, any large industrial equipment, with 99 percent probability, falls under the definition of oversized or super-heavy cargo.
PREPARATORY STAGE
Before starting the transportation of super-heavy or oversized cargo, the specialists of “Sintez TMK” study the datasheets of the equipment to be transported, the technical documentation for the loads and structures, the loading and unloading addresses, transhipment points (if necessary) and customs. Delivery routes are worked out. Our company’s scope of competence also includes the manufacture of special tooling for transporting cargo, as well as its inspection before and after delivery. If the technical documentation is written in a foreign language, it is translated into Russian without fail. In addition, our specialists develop an installation plan (if necessary) and a PPR for all types of work.
All large industrial equipment, with 99 percent probability, falls under the definition of oversized or super-heavy cargo.
TRANSPORTATION OF SUPER-HEAVY AND OVERSIZED CARGO
There is nothing supernatural about transporting super-heavy and oversized cargo. It is successfully carried out by road, rail, sea, river and even air transport. Moreover, intercontinental transportation of super-heavy and oversized cargo is no longer a rarity these days. Each method of transport has its own specifics, but they are united by the use of one type of special transport or another and by enhanced safety measures.
When we talk about road transport, we mean ultra-powerful tractor units which, when necessary on particularly difficult sections of the route — for example on a climb — can operate in tandem, along with special multi-axle semi-trailers and low-loaders. For transporting oversized and super-heavy cargo by rail, special freight platforms are used — open ones for oversized loads. For air transport, special cargo aircraft such as the An-124 “Ruslan”, the Lockheed C-5 “Galaxy” or the Boeing 747 are used.
However, whichever method of transporting super-heavy or oversized cargo interests you, carefully worked-out logistics must come first. A correctly chosen route not only noticeably reduces travel time but also saves money. Sometimes the partial dismantling and re-installation of an obstacle such as a low bridge or an overhead pedestrian crossing, or building a temporary road or reinforcing an existing one, may be more economically advantageous than a detour of tens or even hundreds of kilometres along public roads. The most striking example here is finding a route for cargo that is oversized in height (more than 5 metres, for instance), or bringing in special equipment, in coordination with power-grid companies, to temporarily raise high-voltage wires above the roadway.
WHY US?
- Order the transportation of super-heavy or oversized cargo.

- Quality guarantee.
- Our staff includes 7 project managers with higher technical education and 15 process-equipment installation foremen with 5 years of experience.
- We will help cut the cost of transporting super-heavy or oversized cargo by optimising the process by 15 percent or more.
- Call us by phone or send a request by email.
By ordering the transportation of super-heavy and oversized cargo from our company, you receive a comprehensive service that includes carefully planned logistics, customs clearance, manufacture of special tooling, loading and unloading of your goods, escort en route, and the preparation of all permit documentation, including with the traffic police. A mistake here can result in a fine of from several tens to several hundreds of thousands of roubles. In addition, you can obtain information about the location of your cargo in real time at any moment, as all tractor units are equipped with GPS-GLONASS devices.
The cost of transporting super-heavy and oversized cargo is calculated individually in 100 percent of cases, since it depends on a large number of non-reproducible factors such as: the specifics of the cargo, the distance, the route, the need to use (usually to manufacture) a special low-loader, the involvement — in addition to road tractors — of special (army) tractors, the need for additional engineering solutions, and so on. In any case, our prices are 100 percent justified and competitive.
The portfolio of “Sintez TMK” contains a large number of successfully completed projects involving the transportation of super-heavy and oversized cargo.
Transporting super-heavy or oversized cargo is too responsible a procedure to entrust to the first organisation that comes along. Success in this matter is guaranteed only with multi-stage control over all stages of the operation. Everything possible must be taken into account, right down to the hourly weather forecast for the time of transportation.
The portfolio of “Sintez TMK” contains a large number of successfully completed projects involving the transportation of super-heavy and oversized cargo. The most significant project of all is the transcontinental relocation (from the USA to the Russian Federation) of a crank press, with extensive rigging works and the use of road, sea and rail transport.
