- Gravitational (the cargo moves under the action of its own gravity).
By the nature of the application of driving force and design distinguish:
- with a traction organ;
- No traction organ.
By the type of transported goods distinguish machines for movement:
- bulk cargoes;
- piece cargo.
By purpose and position on the production site distinguish machines:
- stationary;
- portable;
- mobile.
